david.li@sunstone-group.comDavid has close to 20 years of work experience in the banking and insurance industries. David joined Sunstone as a Managing Director in January 2012.
David started his professional career as a trainee in 1992 in the corporate lending department of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and later joined Ping An Insurance Company as a commercial line underwriter. He worked in several overseas markets in the insurance business for Veolia Group in UK, IFC in USA and HCC Global Financial Products in Spain, before returning to China in the middle of 2011.
While with his previous firms, David has accumulated enormous knowledge in a wide area of risk management as well as investment practices in insurance: D&O/Financial Line, captive insurance, TPA, ERM, insurance advisory services in investment banking, and insurance market entry and business development. David also has the experience of investor relations management and assisting Chinese companies with overseas IPO.
David holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Shenyang Institute of Technology, China, and an M.Sc. in Risk Management & Insurance from City University Cass Business School, UK. David's native language is Chinese. He speaks fluent English and has a beginner level in Spanish.
