Thomas is a founding member of Sunstone, an investment consultancy specifically focused on the China market for both international and domestic investors.

Thomas has over 20 years of experience across several sectors of the insurance industry: property & casualty, life & health, and reinsurance. Through a variety of senior positions with his previous Chinese, UK, USA and Swiss employers, Thomas has developed a keen understanding of international insurance operations, as well as acquired business skills and techniques in several cultures. While with his previous jobs, Thomas either participated or took leading roles in several cross-border projects which involved such investors as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, American Reinsurance, QBE, and Lincoln Financial Group.

Thomas is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) and holds a diploma of insurance of the Chartered Insurance Institute (Dip, CII). Thomas graduated from Nanjing University in 1990 with a BA in English Literature and in 1993 with an MA in English Linguistics.
